…the holidays didn’t go so well

So, at the beginning of December I thought to myself, “Holidays are when people normally get off their schedules and begin to fall off the wagon.” I was confident that this would not be me.

Well…it was. I took about a month off from my healthy eating and going to the gym 3-4 times a week. And subsequently I gained about 4 to 5 pounds (depending on the day). I know I probably could have gained more but there is no excuse for this!

I have slowly started back to my healthy ways. I have started an Advocare cleanse (although I didn’t take it for three days, so I am not sure how effective it will be) and that seems to have gotten some of the “bloat” down. I went to my trainer for the first time in a month. Got dizzy and a bit nauseous from it all…we did work out for a hour. However, he noticed that I was weaker than usual. He told me, “You have some catching up to do.”

Note: he didn’t say we, he said you. Meaning this is all on me. This is no one else’s fault besides my own.

It has been a rough few weeks. Christmas wasn’t as expected. My mother got sick and it just wasn’t the same. New Year’s Eve ended up being amazing! But that meant a lot of empty calories (oh whiskey, you sneaky devil you), and a lot of fast food on the road.

So for the last few weeks, I haven’t had a normal schedule. Which shouldn’t stop me from working towards my goals. But it is so hard to keep up with things when your normal routine is blown to bits!

This week:

I have gotten off to a pretty good start. I even went out to eat on a date and didn’t do that terrible. Woot woot delicious lobster tacos! I have made sure I have eaten three meals and at least one snack a day. I need to go buy some pistachios to eat as my morning snack. I plan on going to the gym Thursday and Friday night. Then Saturday and Sunday before work. That will bring my total work outs to 5 this week.

I am still trying to desperately get below 250. It is the weight I just can’t seem to get under. I got so close last April when I weighed 250.6. I thought for sure I would break it. Not so much…and then I went and gained 20lbs in 4 months. It is astonishing how quickly all that weight comes back on.

Wish me luck, I am going to need it.
