Hello there everyone!
My name is Emily, and for the most part I am semi-normal 25-year-old young lady who is just trying to figure it all out. From dating, to my career, to life in general. But what I am really focused on is something I definitely have NO idea about: my weight and how to control it. For the past year, I have been researching, trying (and failing) to lose weight. In January 2013, I weighed in at my tops 274 pounds. And for a girl who is only 5’4″, you can imagine how bad that is for my health. I started off last year with a trainer and some new ideas on how to become a healthier version of myself. I lost about 25 pounds with him. Then April hit and my schedule got crazy and the gym I belonged to started jerking me around. Needless to say I was not pleased. Feeling discouraged and lost, I stopped going to the gym. I stopped eating my tasty healthy meals. I then gained 20 pounds in about 4 months. I mean, who wouldn’t when you basically only eat fast food?
Fast forward to August 2013, when I finally just got fed up with gaining all this weight. I decided to join a more reputable gym and went with LA Fitness. I have been there ever since and am working with a pretty intense ex-military trainer Ronnie. He doesn’t yell or make me feel bad. He quietly encourages me to do better and lets me know what I need to do.
It is a journey. A life-long journey.
Please feel free to share my story, comment, or even if you have any advice. I am not perfect, nor do I want to be. I just want to find the healthy girl (woman, whichever you prefer) that is waiting to burst out and take on the world.
